#49: Sailing Corsica: Napoleon, the heatwave & admin trouble.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ys_dNvKZzr8&t=608s

We chose to sail to Corsica, because under no circumstances were we going to miss this part of France. I had never been to Corsica, and hadn’t stepped foot in my home country in over a year.

Besides, Ryan was going to teach a one week course in Paris at the end go June, and flying out of Ajaccio (the Corsican capital) was the easiest and cheapest.

Since I had myself to run some administrative errands in the French capital, I gladly followed, and enjoyed a free hotel room with AC while a massive heat wave was baking the entire country.

I carried out my errands with various levels of success, but the possibility of hanging out with my family certainly cheered me up. We also took this opportunity to go visit the Beneteau factory in Vendee, where we developed a whole new level of respect for our boat.

Back in a blazing hot Ajaccio, we couldn’t wait to go back at sea to seak a little bit of freshness on the water and at anchorage.

Corsica marked for us the beginning of our best time in the Med. We finally settled in a groove and started to thoroughly enjoy our life onboard in the Mediterranean!
