Bermuda to Azores, Day 6 through 10: What they've been up to

Now that we have personally heard from Sophie and Ryan and we know all is well, it’s time for a little update.

For the last four days, they’ve been sailing by the stars, playing the guitar, singing to the moon, and listening to the gentle waves as they push them forward toward the Azores. It’s nights like this that make it all worthwhile… alone on the sea, without an agenda, just time passing by until you arrive at the next new place.

Sophie has been baking bread, crepes, and chicken fingers, sending delicious smells wafting through the air. Ryan is writing several new songs and designing some killer new shirts while relaxing and catching up on sleep. And Anett is at the helm fishing, refusing to wear anything but her hat and sunscreen… I guess she really wants a good tan. (Hide the iodine and baby oil!)

You know all is well when there is a pod of dolphins dancing alongside them, hailing Polar Seal as a queen of the sea! So please know that as they sit back, relax, and enjoy each moment of this crossing, it has never been more clear that they are in exactly the right place.

*Record Scratch* What probably really happened

“Holy shit! What the hell just happened?!? F***! Ryan, What did you do? Why is something ALWAYS breaking on a sailboat? OMG! We have lost touch with the world…. What, how, ahhhhhhhh…” After about a half-hour of this nonsense… let’s hope they sat back, relaxed, and started singing again. Louder than they had before!

The Real Real

While we may not know exactly what the crew of Polar Seal is up to, we do know that they are safe and continuing on with the crossing. We did, however, just get a message about Sophie flirting with the Coast Guard or something… Anyway, we’ll post more updates as we have them! They expect to arrive sometime July 12th or 13th, as of today.
