Gibraltar is a place that holds a special place in our hearts, since it is where we learned how to sail back in 2016. Gibraltar is also the home of some of our coolest sailing friends: Targ and Tereza, on their beautiful 57 foot Nordia. Gibraltar is notorious for its heavy ships traffic, the crazy currents and overfalls that make it difficult to navigate. But sailors also know that Gibraltar is a place where fuel is cheap and has therefore become a mandatory stop for anyone about to cross the Atlantic.
In other words: We were not going to leave Europe without waving Gibraltar a proper goodbye!
To access Gibraltar from the Spanish border, you need to first cross Gibraltar Airport's runway. Now and then, the traffic across the runway has to stop to let a plane take off or land.
