REVEALING our NEXT BOAT

Wondering what boat we’ll adventure on next? It’s not a catamaran… It’s not a cruiser… It’s a Rhode Runner by Chesapeake Light Craft - a small wooden motorboat with a James-Bond-boat look that runs up to 20 knots!

Yes, we’re not ready to buy Polar Seal II just yet. We’re making progress towards that, but we don’t want to be boat-less in the meantime. That’s why we’re tackling a smaller project next.

Chesapeake Light Craft are the World’s largest manufacturer of DIY small boat kits. Our friends Billy and Sierra from Tula’s Endless Summer built their outrigger with them. Last April Ryan and I went on a random visit of the company’s showroom and I fell in love with the Rhode Runner. I mean, look at it. Isn’t it the cutest?! So I convinced Ryan we should build one.

The plan is to spend 8 weeks building the boat and fitting it with electric engines - and Dakota Lithium batteries, of course - before we roam the waters of Annapolis’ creeks. Bear in mind that until we moved onto Polar Seal I could barely put together an IKEA shelf, so this is bound to be a super fun (read interesting) project.

We hope you’ll follow along on the build.
